Kalški greben (roundtrip)

If anyone had asked me where to go to have the best view of the highest peaks in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, I wouldn't think twice. Go to Kalški greben! When you're running, peaks like Grintavec, Skuta, and Brana practically beg you to take a picture of them. The views are the most majestic at sunrise. However, it can be a bit challenging to navigate in the dark through Kriška Planina and Planina Koren. Nevertheless, the trail is well marked from start to finish. Its height profile and terrain are in the trail running sweet spot - you'll be switching between running and power hiking quite a lot. On Planina Koren, there's a cottage with a self-serve bar on its terrace. You can drop a coin into the coinbox and take the beverage of choice from the old Yugoslavian airplane's drawer. In summertime, you'll encounter cows and maybe some sheep. If you're lucky, chamois will say hi as well.
