Stol - from Valvasor through Završnica (roundtrip)

Stol was one of the mountains that I hated when I was younger. The ascent always felt like a never-ending set of turns and stones. But it's so handy. Especially for training sessions with an emphasis on elevation gained. So I decided, let's climb it from the other side - using an even longer route. You start at Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom and run towards Dom pri izviru Završnice at the bottom of Stol's steep slopes. Once there, you start climbing towards Šija saddle and later through the scree. True mountain paradise. You can grab a quick coffee at the Prešernova koča pod Stolom and descend back to the valley.

You can leave your car on the side of the road just before the Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom. At the end of the parking lot next to Završnica lake, you need to turn left and pass through the gate to get there. You'll need to pay the entrance fee with a card.
